The objective of the project is to improve the performance of the electrical network by developing technical specifications for electrical equipment and appliances in order to achieve the most efficient use of electrical energy. The outputs of the project are to prepare technical specifications for energy efficiency for air conditioners, refrigerators and lighting. Several entities participated in the project, most notably is the Ministry of Planning and its affiliated Libyan National Centre for Standardization and Metrology, with the participation of technical experts in the field of electricity.
