On Monday, October 16, 2023, the Board held a workshop at its headquarters. The workshop was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, the General Director of theBoard; Dr. Nouri Al-Qattati, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce; Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Baour, the President of the General Authority for Information; Mohammed Hamouda, the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth and Civil Society Affairs; Dr. Ali Faraj, as the head of the advisory team for the social protection project; Ms. Sorour Aribi as a representative of the Ministry of Local Government; and Colonel Lotfi Saeed as a representative of the Civil Status Authority
The workshop was attended by a number of stakeholders and experts in the field, including representatives from international organizations such as Ms. Georgie, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations in Libya and Representative of Humanitarian Affairs; Sarah Hariz, the Social Protection Programs Manager at the World Bank; Maisa Al-Ghribawi, the Representative of the World Food Program; Mr. Tawheed Pasha, the Head of the Temporary Mission at the International Organization for Migration; and Abdulsalam, a representative from UNICEF.
“The team reviewed the actual work outputs, which can be summarized as follows:
• Achieving a unified social number.
• A unified social registry during crises.
• Smoothness in unifying data and reducing gaps to ensure a quick response in emergency situations and to face shocks.
Finally, representatives of international organizations expressed their gratitude for the efforts made and recognized the existing national expertise that obviated the need to call in international experts to Libya.
