Strategy for Reform and Development of Transportation Sector

The project aims to develop a comprehensive strategy for land, sea and air means of transport, by studying and reviewing previous strategies concerned with transportation in Libya and formulating a unified strategy for that purpose. Many national experts and representatives of relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Transportation and its affiliated bodies participate in the project.

Urban Planning Reform and Development Strategy

The project aims to reform and develop the existing urban planning system in order to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability at the national and local levels. It aims to reform the infrastructure and to improve urban conditions and the economic and social environment. Representatives of the Urban Planning Authority, local experts and academics from Libyan universities are participating in the implementation of the project.

Sustainable Development in Villages in Semi-desert Belt in Libya

The project aims to develop a national framework for future skills and jobs that provides the required reference that determines the course of necessary changes in professions, jobs and the skills they demand. This is to ensure acceptable levels of compatibility between the outputs of education and training institutions and the needs and requirements of the labor market. Many national and specialized experts in this field are participating in the implementation of the project, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and universities.

Establishing a Technology Park

The objective of the project is to support the national economy by contributing to the creation of joint projects between institutions, universities, research centers and the private sector. One of the most important current outputs is writing the first draft of the strategy ((TARAQ)) linking higher and technical education with entrepreneurship and the economy. Many parties are participating in the implementation of the project including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Libyan Atomic Energy Establishment and a number of national experts with specialization in this field.

Community Dialogue Platforms

The aim of the project is to raise the level of community awareness of the most important economic and social issues that are the subject of conflict in Libya. The outputs of project are to prepare an integrated guide for community dialogue in Libya, including the work methodology and the facilitators’ guide. Experts in political and social sciences participated in the preparation of the project.

Study and Reform the Public Occupation of Education and Health Sectors

The objective of the project is to make a real and authentic enumeration of the public service post in the education and health sectors in the Libya. This is to establish the optimal number for them in the public service post. The teamwork completed the first phase of the project by listing the public service posts in the education sector and proposing a matrix of measures to reform the public post. Representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Information and Documentation Center, and many experts in the field participated in the project.

Evaluation of Performance of National Center for Accreditation of Health Establishments

Studying the Phenomenon of Informal Economy

Representatives of the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Tax Authority and national expertise in economic science will participate in the implementation of the project.

Basic and Secondary Education Reform

The objective of the project is to raise the efficiency of teachers, school principals, and human cadres working in schools in order to provide high-quality services that meet the needs of learners and society. One of the most important outputs of the teamwork was providing a matrix of executive procedures for the components of the educational process, whether at the level of the school environment, the school leadership, the teacher, the educational inspector, the educational curricula, the social worker, and the psychological adviser. Many experts participated in this project in coordination with our main partner the Ministry of Education.
